Service Description
This walking tour at Seattle's historic Lake View cemetery will introduce you to a number of Seattle's most notable Confederate Civil War veterans. Southern veterans were far fewer in number in Seattle than their counterparts in Blue, but they are no less a part of our local history. Learn about their stories during the Civil War as well as here in Seattle. Hear about men that fought at places like Gettysburg or Shiloh and their surprising and fascinating lives here in Seattle. Doctors, lawyers, an Olympic medalist and much more. Also discussed will be the history of the complex relationships between Confederate and Union veterans in Seattle.
